Rasas Auditions: 'The Close Up' (3-Day Intensive)
Rasa Aesthetics is a Physical Approach to Acting that comes from the Ancient Indian text - the Natyasastra - in which the Rasas are described as the Essence of the Art of Acting. The word ‘Rasa’ means Flavor, and according to the ‘Natyasastra,’ in order for acting to be truly alive, actors must not merely be ‘seen’ by the audience but ‘tasted’ or ‘experienced’ by the spectators. The participants in this 3-Day workshop will explore ‘Embodying’ each of the 8 Rasas, or ‘Flavors’, and learn to apply them to their Auditions. This technique, which has only recently been discovered in the West by Theatre Anthropologists, has evolved into an accessible and effective technique for actors who desire to bring greater life and vitality to their work in Television and Film.
All levels are welcome. Early Registration ends on January 8th, 2026.
