The Summer Intensive is an immersive actor training program where that focuses on the mind-body connection and opening the expressive range of the actor.  During the 2-week program actors will experience, in-depth, the innovative acting techniques of the Lucid Body, Voice De-structuring/Re-structuring & Rasa Aesthetics.  These techniques are designed to support actors who desire to let go of habits that have been limiting them and to grow and transform their acting.  This program is for actors who desire to open their expressive range and to make bolder choices in their acting.  They will be led by Kennedy Brown, a senior teacher of the Lucid Body technique and Fitzmaurice Voicework, with over 25 years teaching in many of the best actor training programs in NY, LA as well as well as Internationally.   

Week 1: The Lucid Body Immersion

The program begins with the Lucid Body Technique, an Intensive Psycho-physical approach to actor training.  This transformational technique, which is based on the Chakra Energy System, allows actors to develop an awareness of their own physical and emotional habits of expression.  Throughout the week, the actors will explore a process for moving beyond those habits in order to bring greater emotional truth and range to their acting.

Week 2: Voice De-Structuring + Rasa Aesthetics

The focus of week two is on the actors learning to integrating the psycho-physical approach into scenes and monologues in order to experience their acting on a new level.  The Voice De-structuring technique is where actors develop a greater authentic connection to the voice as well as a more organic process for owning the text. The Rasas is a physical acting technique where actors learn to bringing greater vitality and power to the choices they make in their acting.  When combined, these techniques will offer the actors a powerful and reliable process for for developing their roles for performance as well as their auditions.
